All the Pretty Little Horses

Alex's Prilla Fairy costume was perfect for the Florida weather, but not so much for St. Louis so it was a quick trip to Marshalls to -perish the thought-buy a costume. She's been so into horses lately that this one seemed like a natural. Mom went as a cowgirl and Alex as my little horsie to the Zoo's Pumkin Prowl. It was a fun time, but not a whole lot going on.
The previous weekend we went to one of the Harvest Festivals out at Shaw Nature Reserve. Absolutley beautiful! We took a wagon ride, listened to some good music (Da might argue that since it was folk/bluegrass and not his cup of tea), and took a pony ride. We also had some great food from some of the local resturants and bought a few things from the local vendors.
We did a road trip to the Kansas City area to pick up some china I got from from ebay and went to the Kansas City Zoo. The weather was gorgeous. They were having their Boo at the Zoo and it was fun, lots of trick or treating. She really enjoyed the kangaroo area, they're free to hop among you if they like, though they generally stay a bit away and she was all set to go up the hill after them.
The next daythe weather was still in the 70's so we took advantage of it and went to the St Louis Zoo. They finally reopened Jungle of the Apes so we watched the gorillas for awhile. We had fun petting the guinea pigs and brushing the goats in the Children's Zoo and riding the train.
For Halloween we went to one of the local pumkin patches. They have a big play area for the kids and she had a blast on the slide and tire swings. There was a petting zoo and pony rides which of course she went on.
Halloween night we stayed home and passed out candy. Next year I think she'll be old enough to get the idea of trick or treating.

Fall Days

We've been taking advantage of the nice weather before the cold snap comes in. We went garage saling Saturday and Alex got lots of nice books and a Wags stuffed dog (from the Wiggles). When she saw Wags amongst the other stuffed animals in a box, she started to dance and do the Bow Wow Wow song. It was so cute! One of the Dads at the sale started to do the Wags Tango song-too funny. She showed it to Da when he got home and starting dancing for him. Has to be one of the best 25 cents ever spent.
Sunday we went out to a Rodeo. It was kinda fun, Alex liked seeing the horses. But it was really dusty, we all came back home filthy. Plus the talent was not there, only 1 guy rode a bull for more than 1 second. I'm waiting for another PBR event to come to town.
We've spent lots of time outside playing in the playhouse and on the climber. Also walking to the park and swinging. We're also in the process of staining the garage which of course Alex wants to help with. She did actually get more stain on the garage than she did herself though its hard to believe from the photo. Notice how her left foot looks like she's wearing a brown boot even though she's barefoot.
Todays a Gymboree day so we'll go have some fun there, little too cold to play outside today. Since the weathers supposed to get worse the next few days, I'll probably take her back to Gymbo for Music and Art classes.

Where Dreams Come True

Disney trip was great. I'll hit a few highlights:
First day we went to Animal Kingdom where she met Minnie Mouse. She wasnt scared, but she wasnt sure what to think either. She had a great time in the dinoland play area, especially the sand dig.

The next morning we went to the Magic Kingdom and of course hit Dumbo first. She loved playing in Poohs hundred acres woods, but didnt really care for the Pooh ride.

We rode Cinderellas Carousel and as you can see in the photo, Walt made his way back to the World. We stopped by and saw Walts siblings in the Toy Shop in Germany at Epcot and realized just how much he's been loved.

Alex's enjoyed Its a Small World but her hands down favorite ride of all was the TeaCups. She went nuts on that ride. We rode it at least 4 times and I think she would have liked to ride it at least 4 more, but Mom and Dad couldnt handle it.

We had her silhoutte done on MainStreet and we also hit the Main Street barber shop for her very first haircut. It was all of about 4 snips, but they covered her in stickers, she got pink embroidered Mickey ears, a certificate and they saved the hair clippings. Plus her hair really does look better.

We spent lots of time in Toontown exploring Minnies house and playing in the Town Park. Alex espeically liked Plutos house and did a pretty good imitation of him. (She does a great dog panting cause shes so used to seeing Rowan panting all the time from her condition)

We had dinner with Cinderella and Prince Charming at the Grand Floridian before the Halloween Party where Alex was dressed as Prilla (Tinkerbells newest friend) kinda-she wouldnt wear the wings or the hat, oh well-she was still cute.

Caught a littel Dan Zanes at the Studios before Alex got bored. She just wasnt in the dancing mood that morning. We went to Bear and that didnt even get her feet tapping. So it was off to lunch with JoJo and Goliath and then back to the hotel for a nap.

Epcot was nice. Alex enjoyed the ducks while we enjoyed the Food and Wine Festival. Got to hear Off-Kilter, men in kilts-yeah! Alex got another pearl from Japan (just a single this time). We checked out Alex's Leave a Legacy Tile and stopped by my Moms as well. (I gotta remember to bring kleenex)

Last day just hung out at Down Town Disney and did a little shopping and lots of playing in the fountains. If you notice in the second picture-thats her latest thing-she does the "where did it go?" move. She had us in stitches with that one all week.
