Dancing Queen

Radio Disney was at the local mall doing a Book Blast Party and boy did Alex PARTY!! At the first mention of dancing she went right out there with the dancers and pretty much stayed there for almost 2 hours. She tried to play in all the games (which she's still mostly just a little young for, but she gave it a try). I think Disney has found a new star for High School Musical 15.

Easter Continued

We went out to Purina Farms with BFF Mary and had a great time.

Keeping Busy

Its been a time of firsts and lasts. Alex had her first dentist check-up, we found a really great pediatric dentist. She was such a big girl, went bag to the exam room all by herself, no problems. When I went to the exam room afterwards, I could hear her all the way down the hall, just yammering away at the dentist, apparently they were having an in-depth conversation about pets. Her teeth are perfect. She's always been good about brushing, never forgets to do it before bed, even if I forget to remind her and she got some new wildlife flossers from the dentist which she would gladly floss her teeth 6 times a day if I let her.
An important part of her toddlerhood has come to an end, she's had her last Gymboree class. After 3 yrs old they only have drop off classes and since we're doing school thats not what we're looking for. We'll still have playdates with Mary and classes at the Childhood Center and we're looking at classes at one of the performance arts centers for the summer. She'll be going to a montessori summer camp for a week with swimming and horseback riding everyday so I dont think she'll miss Gymbo much. Still its kind of the end of an era and just reminds me that she's growing up so fast (the sap that I am, I even got teary eyed at the last Gymbo). Doesnt she look so grown up in the photo of her going off to school with Daddy? She's really loving Kids Morning Out so I know she'll love preschool in the fall. We're only doing 2 half days, just enough to give me a break and let her have a ton of fun. I know whe would love to do gymnastics or dance but we're still trying to figure that out budget wise.
She's such a girlie girl-we went to a kids fair and she got her hair and make-up done. I'm not ready for that yet (and neither is Daddy)but she loved it so much. We're definetly adding Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique to our next Disney trip. She loves playing house and taking care of her babies and she's very into being a vet and helping sick animals. She may be girlie girl but she loves playing with her animals, especially sharks and snakes-go figure. Even though the weather hasnt warmed up yet, we've managed to hit the zoo and that was a fun time. We cant wait for spring!

Hop, Hop, Hop

Alex had a great Easter. She was very excited about Peter Cottontail coming to her house. We made Easter cookies and left a couple out for him. She loves to bake, especially the mixing part and then turning on the light in the oven and watching them bake.
We had our subdivision egg hunt, but it was a drizzly day and Alex had the sniffles so it was a grab your eggs and lets get back inside kinda day. She was very excited to open each egg and see what was inside.
The following week we went to the Botanical Gardens for a members only egg hunt. The weather was a little better and Alex once again was very excited about gathering eggs. She got to pet some real bunnies and see the Easter Bunny who she gave a high five to.
Easter Morning came and Alex surprisingly slept in a little-7am-yippee-we were excited! The easter bunny had left her a trail of eggs to find, which she looked for with her flashlight, even though it was light in the house. She got a kick out of it cause the bunny left her eggs in Dad's shoe and in her chair. The eggs led to her basket hidden behind the couch. She was very excited about her new dragon kite, she loves to try (try being the operative word) and fly kites. She also got a princess hoody towel, which she's very into the hoody towels lately. Lots of books and card games which we spent the day playing. Gold Fish use to be her favorite, but I think Snap may have edged it out. She gets very excited in anticipation of what card is going to get flipped over next and she loves grabbing the piles. She also got a kids digital camera which she was sooo into. She went around taking pictures of everything. It even has games on it so it will be fantastic for travel. She wanted to take it to school today but we finally convinced her to leave it at home. Of course the highlight of Easter-the chocolate bunny-his nose was the first to go! Alex also had fun cracking up the eggs we dyed (I stuffed them with confetti). She threw the confetti up in the air, shouting Happy Easter. Troy thought we were nutty as we partook in a new Easter pastime-Peeps jousting in the microwave. alex thought it was great. another new pastime this year was decorating an easter bonnet. You can see her modeling her creation in the pictures with her easter basket. She picked out flowers, butterflies, birds, ribbon and a fairy to put on it. I wielded the glue gun but she told me exactly where to put everything. She was quite proud modeling her latest creation.

Change in the Weather

So-we had an absolutely beautiful weekend. Sunday was up to 78 degrees and we had a blast playing at the park and then catching some of Daddy's lacrosse game. Troy reached 100 game wins this weekend-quite the accomplishment. Alex was just very happy that she got to have dinner with Coach Corbin, she has a bit of a crush.

And then Tuesday-11" of snow! Alex had just as much fun in the snow as she had at the park. It was too fluffy and deep for sledding but we had fun making snow angels and throwing snowballs.
