Hop, Hop, Hop
Alex had a great Easter. She was very excited about Peter Cottontail coming to her house. We made Easter cookies and left a couple out for him. She loves to bake, especially the mixing part and then turning on the light in the oven and watching them bake.
We had our subdivision egg hunt, but it was a drizzly day and Alex had the sniffles so it was a grab your eggs and lets get back inside kinda day. She was very excited to open each egg and see what was inside.
The following week we went to the Botanical Gardens for a members only egg hunt. The weather was a little better and Alex once again was very excited about gathering eggs. She got to pet some real bunnies and see the Easter Bunny who she gave a high five to.
Easter Morning came and Alex surprisingly slept in a little-7am-yippee-we were excited! The easter bunny had left her a trail of eggs to find, which she looked for with her flashlight, even though it was light in the house. She got a kick out of it cause the bunny left her eggs in Dad's shoe and in her chair. The eggs led to her basket hidden behind the couch. She was very excited about her new dragon kite, she loves to try (try being the operative word) and fly kites. She also got a princess hoody towel, which she's very into the hoody towels lately. Lots of books and card games which we spent the day playing. Gold Fish use to be her favorite, but I think Snap may have edged it out. She gets very excited in anticipation of what card is going to get flipped over next and she loves grabbing the piles. She also got a kids digital camera which she was sooo into. She went around taking pictures of everything. It even has games on it so it will be fantastic for travel. She wanted to take it to school today but we finally convinced her to leave it at home. Of course the highlight of Easter-the chocolate bunny-his nose was the first to go! Alex also had fun cracking up the eggs we dyed (I stuffed them with confetti). She threw the confetti up in the air, shouting Happy Easter. Troy thought we were nutty as we partook in a new Easter pastime-Peeps jousting in the microwave. alex thought it was great. another new pastime this year was decorating an easter bonnet. You can see her modeling her creation in the pictures with her easter basket. She picked out flowers, butterflies, birds, ribbon and a fairy to put on it. I wielded the glue gun but she told me exactly where to put everything. She was quite proud modeling her latest creation.
